New Year's Eve Dinner Dance

On December 31th the Council held it's annual New Year's Dinner Dance to celebrate the start of 2010. Once again DJ John, with the help of his daughter (the Photographer) and his wife (the Cheerleader) did an incredible job in helping us have a great time ushering in 2010. For the past few years John has supplied us with Photos from the dance and once again he has not failed us. Click Here to view the New Years Eve Dinner Dance Pictures.

Halloween Dinner Dance

On October 30th the Council held it's first annual Halloween Dinner Dance. Click Here to view the Halloween Party Pictures. A great time was had by all. Music was provided by DJ Jimmy V. Many celeberties came to the party. These included Johhny Depp, Keira Knightley, Laverne, Squiggy, The Three Blind Mice, Zorro, Superman, Madusa, The Grim Reaper, and The Entire Cast of the Wizard of Oz (Munchins could not come because they were a little short on cash...). Karen Palli and her Blind Mice won best costume. Save the date for next year's Halloween Party, Saturday, October 30th, 2010.

Council 2852 Toolbar

Over on the left side of this web page, under the Council Meeting times notices is a button "Download Our Council Toolbar'.
A toolbar personalized for our Council has been developed, based on Google technology. When you install this toolbar it will show up at the top of your Internet Browser window. It will provide easy access to the Council and Supreme web sites. It also has a search function to search the entire Internet for information or you can search just the Council Web Site for information.
The big advantage to this toolbar is that the council can send out messages and they will instantly show up in the toolbar ready to be read. An urgent Alert can also be sent and a Message Box will appear at the bottom right of your Computer Screen with the message. This messaging can keep you up to date on council events such as wake services and dances, as well as give you urgent information when required.
Read the Council Toolbar Information Document for more information. It will explain how to download and install the toolbar, as well as how to use it. So look over to the left and click the toolbar button to install the toolbar.

Fight Freedom of Choice ACT (FOCA)
Abortion Bill

FOCA Would Wipe Away Every Restriction on Abortion Nationwide This would eradicate state and federal laws that the majority of Americans support, such as:

  • Bans on Partial Birth Abortion
  • Requirements that women be given information about the risks of getting an abortion
  • Only licensed physicians can perform abortions
  • Parents must be informed and give consent to their minor daughter's abortion.

FOCA would erase these laws and prevent states from enacting similar protective measures in the future.

Fight Reproductive Health and Privacy Protection (RHAPP) Abortion Bill

Stop New York State's Extreme Abortion Proposal. Click the image to sign the petition or print this petition and ask family and friends to sign it. Address for where to send it is on the petition.

RHAPP could force these extreme results:

  • Catholic hospitals and other religious facilities in New York State could lose their license to operate if they did not provide abortions.
  • Force all insurance plans, including those of Catholic employers, to cover abortion.
  • Legalize abortion through all nine months of pregnancy, for virtually any reason.
  • Make abortion immune from any reasonable state regulation such as parental notification or informed consent.
  • Repeal current law that requires licensed doctors to perform abortions and allow any "health care practitioner" to provide it.
  • Allow late-term abortions to be performed in clinics that do not offer the full complement of support facilities necessary to assist women and any child born alive during an abortion.
